Ijen Crater is an acidic crater lake located at the top of Mount Ijen with a lake depth of 200 meters and a crater area of ​​5,466 hectares. Ijen crater lake is known to be the largest strong acid lake in the world. Ijen Crater is located in the Ijen Tourism Park Nature Reserve, Bondowoso Regency and Banyuwangi Regency, East Java.

The phenomenon of eternal blue fire or eternal blue fire is inside the Ijen crater, and this natural sight only occurs in two places in the world, namely Ethiopia (Mount Dallol) and Ijen. Either through the Banyuwangi or Bondowoso routes, each has its advantages and disadvantages. With the starting point from Surabaya, in terms of distance, it is closer to Bondowoso than Banyuwangi. However, from Bondowoso to Paltuding, you have to travel about 76 km, and it is much closer to travel from Banyuwangi to Paltuding which is only 30 km away.

For tourists who do not own or bring public transportation when traveling to Ijen crater, there is no need to worry. There are several transportation options that you can choose to get to your destination, such as renting a Jeep/Trooper, renting an angkot or riding a motorcycle taxi.
